Sapper Hill
On the Dempster Highway, Yukon, Canada

 -

The Dempster Highway was partly built by Canadian Army Engineers, traditonally known as "sappers". Both this ridge and the tributary stream that runs into the Ogilvie River here was named for them. Notice how some of the trees in this taiga forest are tipped sideways. This is caused by ground heaving due to thawing and freezing of the permafrost - known as a "drunken" forest.
