While I was setting up a new computer laboratory at the research station, my wife and I stayed at the Hotel Mo'orea Lagoon, just a mile down the road.
Accommodations here consist of simple thatched bungalows in a garden setting. This locally-owned hotel offers a small swimming pool, tiny beach, restaurant and bar, recreational activities and occasional evening entertainment. Its main attraction is the quiet atmosphere and its beautiful setting on the lagoon.
The circular coral-block structure is a freshwater shower. The strange giant-fungi shapes are coral heads taken from the lagoon. If you look carefully you may see a lost swim fin at the bottom of the pool.
