The Federation Grove is named for the Federation of Women's Groups, who raised money for its purchase. It is on the Dyerville Flats, separated from the Founders Grove by both the 101 freeway and the Avenue of the Giants. The most remarkable feature of the grove, other than the redwoods, is the four-way fireplace shelter designed by Berkeley architect Julia Morgan.
