Fort Bragg is the main town of the Mendocino-Sonoma coast, offering all necessary services. It used to be dominated by a huge lumbermill, its derlict facilities still occuppying the land between the town and the ocean. It is a pleasant town, with an historic downtown.
The Skunk Railroad ends here, a scenic ride over the coast ranges from Willits on Highway 101.
