The high ridge of Tiburon Peninsula juts three miles into San Francisco Bay. The village of Tiburon at its tip has in the past been a busy port but is now an upscale suburb with superb views and the quaint remnants of the old town. Commuter ferries still run to San Francisco, and in summer and on weekends to Angel Island. Tiburon is noted for its restaurants and art galleries, in many ways a smaller version of Sausalito.
