Point Reyes headland is a high ridge that runs from Point Reyes itself on the west, where the lighthouse is, to Chimney Rock Point to the east, sheltering Drakes Bay. It is wild and always windy up there, no trees, just short tough grass and low bushes. I was there in a storm once, and literally almost blew away.
