Angel Island - One
Angel Island State Park in San Francisco Bay California

Angel Island, now a state park in its entirety, is dotted with government facilities of various kinds and ages. The ferry from Tiburon docks in Hospital Cove, site of a late-nineteenth century quarantine station. It is also called Ayala Cove, after the Spanish naval officer who sailed the first ship into San Francisco Bay and anchored here in 1775.

Around the north side of the island is the historic immigration station, the "Ellis Island of the west", where immigrants from the far East were processed and sometimes detained.
