The Congress Trail leads from the General Sherman area to the House and Senate groups, and on through Giant Forest. The winter trail markers are high up on the trunks, to stay above deep snow.

The House Group of giant Sequoias, named for the US Congress. In winter it can best be reached on skis or snowshoes.

Though none of them are of record size, the House Group of giant Sequoias is worth the effort to reach. I winter one may be all alone with the trees.

The Senate Group of giant Sequoias, a dense grouping of very large trees. In winter it is an easy trip on snowhsoes or cross-country skis from the General Sherman parking area.
