Los Osos Oaks
south of Morro Bay California

This small park protects a sample of the once-widespread forest of contorted live oaks found in the windy Los Osos Valley. Most of the forest was cleared long ago to create rich farmland, and this remaining forest was in danger of being developed as a trailer park.
