Hot Tubs in the Campground
Cañon de Guadalupe, Baja California Norte, Mexico

A series of deep canyons cut into the steep eastern flanks of the Sierra de Juarez in northern Baja California. Several of them have spring-nourished groves of Mexican fan palms and even short stretches of flowing water, and one of them has hot springs. These oases contrast strongly with the flat desert to the east, dominated by the vast dry lakebed of Laguna Salada.

Cañon de Guadalupe is a little bit of paradise -- a clear stream flows through miles of fan palms, and, just at the mouth of the canyon there are half a dozen hot springs. The owners have built stone and concrete hot tubs all through the palm grove, so each site in the campground has its own small pool, several of which are seen here.
