This is just one of thousands of small rocky coves along the west coast of Vancouver Island. Winter storms bring in huge logs of driftwood and pile them high at the back of the beach.

This particular cove, at the south end of Wickanninish Bay, was named for the Canadian landscape painter, Harold Lismer, who portrayed it in his work many times.
