The old Hudson Bay Company post is now a general store, souvenir shop, and cafe. Upstairs are comfortable rooms with a communal kitchen and a great view of the river. The whole place is a gem. Several years ago I stayed there, in the room right in front. It was mesmerizing to watch the slate-gray Stikine River sliding by so quickly and smoothly, with a gentle hiss and murmur. One of my fondest memories of Canada. If you are in Telegraph stop in to the Riversong Inn and say hello to Dan Pakula, the owner.
