The Tuya is a tributary of the Stikine. A grassy hilltop just off the road to Telegraph Creek gives a wide view to the north over seemingly endless wilderness. There is neither settlement nor road in this direction closer than Atlin, 150 miles away. In all this block of wilderness encompasses over 30,000 square miles about the size of Ireland. John Muir enjoyed hiking here in 1880, with a French-Canadian gold miner. Next: Boya Lake |
