The Alpha Pool

BC Parks has developed the hot springs with boardwalks, access ladders, toilets and changing rooms. This is as much to protect the fragile local environment as for the comfort and convenience of visitors. Now if only they would put some mosquito screens on the windows in the changing rooms!
Few people venture upstream towards the source, at least in summer, because it is too hot. Most congregate in the middle, where there are a couple of underwater benches to sit on. After getting thoroughly cooked, it is pleasant to migrate up the further branch, where the water is much cooler.
